The Friends of Martin Nature Center, Inc. is organized exclusively for charitable and educational purposes, including for such purposes, the making of distributions to organizations under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Service.  The Organization shall work for the maintenance and improvement of Martin Park Nature Center, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. This shall be accomplished through, but not limited to, the following:

1. Maintaining Martin Park as an unspoiled natural tract of land, and preventing uses and developments from endangering its goal as a Nature Center;

2. Rendering, as necessary, physical assistance to the Director of Martin Park in programs of Education, Natural Habitat Improvement, and General Maintenance;

3. Increasing the awareness of the public to the existence of the Park and its educational and recreational opportunities;

4. Providing an agency though which other interested citizens will be able to contribute to the improvement and use of the Park;

5. Serving as an advisory organization to the Oklahoma City Council and its Department of Parks and Recreation.

For over forty years FMPNC has supported Martin Park events by providing educational items and art supplies and has worked with individuals and other nonprofits and societies to plan and support train and meadow maintenance. FMPNC also acts as the non-profit fiscal intermediary for the park for grants and other funding.
